A song written in 2005 about what is going down in 2011!

Into the Silos

Making love
Under silos
Trapped above
What do I know?
Whispering sweetest secrets
For all the World to hear
It’s live on television
Intimacy revealed

I believe this is the first song I ever wrote entirely on my own..back in 1996!! The Canadian economy wasn’t doing so well, at least not in Montreal, and companies were laying people off like mad and I was doing a Bachelor’s in Commerce at Concordia. I fear that the “so many people are going to die” part is closer now then it was back then… Enjoy!

ADAM SMITH

Words and music by Paul Wyndale

Trip to far places to see the other side
Amazing creations to satisfy the mind
220CA535i
No need to worry so well diversified

Building and growing and going and going
So many people, people are going to die!

There’s no point in trying
The show must go on
Let the poor starve and play golf in Taiwan
Adam’s my friend cause he showed me the way
To live like a GOD
And throw all the money away

Building and growing and going and going
So many people, people are going to die!

There’s no point in trying
The show must go on
Let the poor starve and play golf in Taiwan
Adam’s my friend cause he showed me the way
To live like a GOD
And throw all the money away

Okay so this was intended as a meditation on the Evil nature of facial hair…but the evil dudes of the 21st Century are more likely to have receding hairlines or be bald than have whiskers (Bernanke’s Beard being the exception)…

But beards and moustaches sure seemed to be the way to go for the infamous dictators of the 20th Century…

HITLER’S MOUSTACHE

Words and music by Paul Wyndale
Performed by Speedhair

It’s so Evil.
Evil! Evil!
It’s so Evil….

Hitler’s Moustache!

You can’t get away.
You can’t get away.
You can’t get away wearing…

Hitler’s Moustache!

You better run like hell.
Run, run, run like hell.
You better run like hell from…

Hitler’s Moustache.

Run, run, run.

By his moustache possessed.
It was only a test. (bis)

Run, run, run.

Run.

Hooray I’ve upgraded my blog so I can post audio.

This is a song about free-riding and the general lackadaisical state of culture in 2006 when the song was written… The forgotten displeasures aren’t so forgotten at the moment, but if some observers are correct Big Finance will be back to its usual tricks within a few months. I sure hope not.

SIDECAR

Tearing up the highway with the wind your hair
The only way to travel is to not have a care
You’re free
It’s fair

Didn’t build the road, don’t even know where it goes
Just another passenger who already knows
We’re free
So there

Young rockets red-lining the plains
Forgotten displeasure remains
The sun sets exhaused, in pain.
Why does anything happen?

Sailing past the shifting poles, albedo effect
Blackened pools of water, blackened pools of neglect
We’re free.
It’s fair.

Flight to distant places on a wing and a prayer
Sensational sensations are increasingly rare
We’re free
So there.

Buried in sunsets. Estranged.
Young rockets red-lining the plains
Chasing our homes on the range.
Why does anything happen?

The sun sets in hues of deranged.
Forgotten displeasure’s domain.
Young rockets red-lining the plains.
Why does anything happen?
Anything happens.
Does anything happen?
Everything happens
For you.

DOUBLE DEUCE

Music by Speedhair
Words by Paul Wyndale

Comet tails and cosmic rays
These are things that make me worry
Earthquakes and giant waves
No longer extraordinary
Endless wars
Decades of strife
Dismemberred boys the price of Glory
Plague is coming
Millions dead
You just might live
But you’ll be sorry!

Double Deuce!
Double Deuce!

Mudslides and hurricanes
These are things that make me worry
Forest fires, famine, drought
IS NOWHERE SAFE FROM NATURE’S GLORY!?
Can we do enough?
Is this the point of no return?
The global toilet overflows
You can point the finger
BUT YOU’RE TOO BLAME!

Double Deuce!
Double Deuce!

Who’s your daddy now?
Moses, Jesus or Mohammed?
Keep the golden cow
Flip the bird to the Holy Spirit
Scream five times a day
AHHHHHH
Off your knees it’s time to kick it
He, It, She can’t save you now
Cast adrift on a dying planet

Double Deuce
Double Deuce

I reckon weza people are gonna die!

Earth!… What a shithole!

Here are the lyrics I wrote to the Speedhair song “Into the Silos”. Composed back in 2005, well before the beginning of the End of the World!

Quite prescient if I do say so myself! Will post the music when it’s ready!

Post Pavement Indie Rock makes my blood boil.. I’ve been trying to articulate an argument as to why for years now…to say “it sucks” is not sufficient. The following song is a good starting point.

The lyrics to “Kill The Buddha” came to me in one afternoon back in 2006 while sitting at Montreal’s (in)famous Open Da Night café… where you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Win and Régine sipping a latté if you’re inclined to be excited by such things…

Kill the Buddha

Beautiful people
Make me kind of sick
‘Cause if you’re born beautiful
You’re born to be a prick
You wear your fathers’ clothes
You spit on the floor
You hold your head up high
As you walk through the door

I can’t take it! I can’t take it! I can’t take it!
Can’t take it anymore!

If you meet the Buddha on the road,
Kill him!
If you meet the Buddha on the road,
Kill him!

Open day and night
Makes me want to puke
I’m looking for a fight
Maybe build a nuke

The look in your eyes
So fucking satisfied
The wine is delicious
Everything’s so precious

I can’t take it! I can’t take it! I can’t take it!
Can’t take it anymore!

If you meet the Buddha on the road,
Kill him!
If you meet the Buddha on the road
Kill him!
